Eric Dame — certified professional coach, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and NLP

Eric's story is not told to impress. It is told because it is living proof that transformation is possible — and because it explains why his coaching is unlike any other.

Roots in Estrie

Eric was born in 1973, in Estrie. His grandparents took him in and raised him, alongside a great-aunt at whose home he spent his summers. From elementary school on, he knew mockery and bullying; in high school, moving from a small country school to one of more than 2,500 students isolated him further. Those wounds, he knows from the inside.

In his second year of high school, he left school to care for his gravely ill grandmother — every day, he carried her in his arms so she could go outside for fresh air. Before even reaching adulthood, he learned what loyalty and sacrifice mean.

Six years in the dark

At 16, searching for a place and a recognition he had never received, Eric slid into crime. Six years marked by drugs, violence and arrests, far from who he truly was. He romanticizes nothing about that period: it cost him dearly, and it taught him how far limiting beliefs can lead.

The encounter that changed everything

Then, on a freezing winter night, came an encounter he still cannot fully explain. An elderly woman got into his car, looked him straight in the eyes and told him: "You must change your path. Your mission is not to live like this. You must recognize your worth and accomplish what you are called to do." Moments later, she had vanished — without leaving a single trace in the snow.

That day, something broke and something began. He chose to rebuild himself, stone by stone.

The rebuilding, then family

The rebuilding was anything but instant. It ran through many trades — restaurant owner, truck driver, health-care worker, renovation contractor, salesman, tow-truck operator — and through patient work: naming his beliefs, welcoming his emotions instead of fleeing them, taking concrete steps, day after day.

Along that road, life placed an exceptional woman on his path. More than 25 years later, they are still together. Doctors had told him he could never have children; they built a family of six — two she already had, four they had together. An anchor that brings him back to what matters, every single day.

Eight years in the service of others

Now a coach certified in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and NLP, Eric has spent 8 years working with people who, like him once, sense they are made for more. His mastery of his own emotions lets him meet each client in the deepest part of their experience, no matter how serious their situation. Not from theory: from the road he has travelled.

And the story continues

This account is only a summary: many trials and victories remain to be told. A book and conferences will follow to share this story in greater depth.
